How to Install Uber Driver App on iPad, iPad Mini, and iPhone

In this how-to video tutorial, I will walk you through all steps on where to find, download, and install the Uber Driver App on IOS devices such as the iPad, iPad Mini, iPad Air, and iPhone 4s, 5, 5s, 6, 6s and 6s Plus. I will also show you how to troubleshoot and fix what's called the Uber "Untrusted Enterprise Developer App" warning or notification which pops up when you try to launch the Uber driver application. The Untrusted Enterprise Developer App pop up of warning is just to let you know the application is not from the app store and prompts you to change your settings so you can complete the Uber driver app installation.

Follow the basic steps below and begin with the process of downloading and installing the Uber driver-partner app for iPads or iPhones:

How To download and Install The Uber Driver App for iPad, iPad Mini, iPad Air or iPhone:

With your personal iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air or iPhone device visit Uber's secure partner site only: https://partners.uber.com/drive-now
Once you're on the page you will be prompted with an install pop up
Click on the install button and begin the download process
Check your Uber driver-partner installation on your iPad or iPhone home screen
Click on the Uber Partner App, and launch the application
You will now be prompted by the "Untrusted Enterprise Developer" notification
To complete the installation on your iPad or iPhone go to: "Settings > General > Device Management > Uber Technologies Inc >Trust, Enable, and Verify . That's it! You're done!
Return to your Uber driver-partner app, open and launch, sign in, and confirm your app is properly installed and ready to accept a request.

Why drivers prefer a larger iPad, iPad mini or other larger devices for rideshare

Many drivers these days prefer to use a larger device for ridesharing other than the traditional mobile phones most of us are accustomed too. Larger devices that are data plan enabled or have wifi tethering ability such as iPad minis or Samsung Tablets allow for viewing on a larger screen size making it easier to see their rideshare apps or preferred GPS navigation apps such as Google Nav or Waze. Some Uber and Lyft drivers may simply want two devices for ridesharing as well. A rideshare driver may use their primary device or phone for the Lyft or Uber partner app for rider request, and their iPad or Android tablet for GPS navigation only. Regardless of the reason, I've noticed more and more drovers using larger tablets, iPads or iPad minis for rideshare. Recently I downloaded the Uber partner app, and Lyft app on my iPad mini which I will be tethering to my iPhone 6s to use for ridesharing, receiving a request, and GPS navigation. I don't have a data plan with my iPad mini so I'll have to see how my overall connection works out. Wifi tethering off another device may cause some connection issues or lost connections. If I find that to be the case I may upgrade to an iPad mini that is data plan enabled. I'll have to see if investing $600 in a new rideshare device is worth it if all fails as I only use Apple products such as my laptop, desktops, iPhones, and iPad mini.

Why can't I simply download the Uber partner app for IOS devices from the App Store?

Uber may have decided to keep the Uber partner app out of the apple app store is because of constant updates. I believe Uber uses Amazon storage servers to store the Uber partner driver app and other documents and data. This may help with faster downloads and updates. The other theory is the Uber driver app may be restricted from the app store because it doesn't meet the app store requirements or guidelines. It would be interesting to know what those restrictions are if that's the case. Also, keep in mind the Uber passenger app is stored in the app store and available for download with no restrictions. I encourage all Uber drivers to download and use the Uber passenger app as it can give you a different perspective as a driver and help you improve on your driving own skills through observing other drivers.
